You aren’t sure what the beeping means if you have a battery backup on your NBN box. You don’t need to spend your time and money calling your internet provider to fix your NBN box when you can do it yourself. This guide explains how to do it so you don’t have to spend the money and time calling them.

NBN Boxes: what are they?

National Broadband Network connects to your home in different ways, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Due to its potential to offer extremely fast and reliable speeds, Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) connections is widely regarded as one of the best connections. It is necessary to install a connection box for FTTP connections, which require power to function. Furthermore, it is possible to request a backup battery to be installed, which ensures that there will be constant power no matter what the situation is.

An Australian Government-owned NBN (formerly NBN Co.) is rolling out a high-speed broadband network called the National Broadband Network. If you have an NBN connection, you should consider where your internet equipment is installed in order to ensure that faster broadband speeds work properly wherever you are.

For your phone and internet to work on the NBN, you’ll need a power source within 1.5 meters of your modem. If you don’t have a PowerPoint where you want the NBN connection installed, professional NBN technician services install one for you.

It is possible to switch your NBN box back on if it has switched off because it has reached 50% battery capacity. A battery emergency use button should be held for around 2 seconds until the NBN box beeps once and all four lights flash, which is usually around 2 seconds. The Battery Emergency Use cannot be turned off again once it has been switched on. It usually lasts between 2 and 3 hours.

The NBN box I have is beeping. Why is this happening?

NBN boxes will beep four times in a minute during a power outage if they run low. If you find yourself frustrated by them, you’re not alone. Your NBN box will beep four times in a minute when it runs low. You will, however, be reminded every 15 minutes to replace the battery if the battery becomes old or worn out by the NBN box.NBN boxes will beep four times in a minute during a power outage if they run low. NBN boxes beep four times every minute if they are below 50%, which will be indicated by a red light next to the ‘Replace Battery’ marker.

My NBN box keeps beeping. What should I do?

NBN box beeping can be stopped in a variety of ways. The best way to stop the beeping is to change your NBN box battery, as it beeps when it’s time to change it or if it’s low. You can easily replace your NBN box battery in just three simple steps, which is relatively cheap and easy.

The red light next to the ‘Replace Battery’ marker should indicate that the battery needs to be replaced, so you should double-check. If your battery is still under warranty, you will need to buy a new one from a store that sells the right battery, such as Battery World or Jaycar.

After you have turned off the NBN box at the PowerPoint and disconnected it from the main power source, you can then remove your old battery. It is safe to open your NBN box after it has been disconnected. Disconnect the red “+” plug from the battery after opening the front cover. You can safely handle the battery, as it operates at 12V DC. Remove the red plug, then push the tabs holding the battery outward, and then remove the battery. Finally, disconnect the black ‘-‘ plug and remove the battery by placing the tabs above and below the battery.

Finally, you will need to install the new battery. This step is the opposite of the previous one. Connect the black ‘-‘ plug to the battery, and then insert the battery into the NBN box by pushing its battery tabs outward. After connecting the red ‘-‘ plug, ensure that no wires are pinched. Close the NBN box cover and connect it to the main power. The battery will completely charge in 24 hours.

Unless the battery is fully charged, you should keep your old battery until you are certain your new battery works properly.

You can also turn off the alarm on your NBN box manually. It should have an ‘Alarm Silence’ button that can be used to disable the beeping. If you hold the ‘Alarm Silence’ button for 2 seconds or until you hear a beep, you will be able to silence the alarm for 24 hours. To permanently turn off the alarm, press and hold the ‘Alarm Silence’ button for 15 seconds, then press and hold it again for 15 seconds.

You can ask your NBN technician for more information if you’re still unsure about the beeping from your NBN Battery Box.
